What is a vegetable slicer?

Cutting vegetables takes a lot of time during food preparation. This process is made easier with an automated vegetable slicer. These machines contain a motor that rotates special discs. These discs act like knives making it easy to cut your vegetables into neat pieces. Put the vegetables into the machine from above and push them in. Because there are several discs available, you can do all kinds of different cutting jobs. When the vegetables have been cut, they drop out of the machine; place a receptacle underneath, so that you can be sure that your sliced vegetables are kept neatly together.

How do you use a vegetable slicer?

A vegetable slicer is relatively easy to use and also works very quickly. Before you use the slicer, it's important to prepare your vegetables well. Make sure that they are washed and, if necessary, remove the skin. It is important to pick out the right attachment for cutting the vegetables. This will depend on the shape you want to cut them into. Decide if you want thick slices, narrow strips or just cubes, fit the attachment and turn on the machine. Large pieces of vegetables can be put through the machine using the lever. If you have small or long vegetable pieces then push them through the machine with the help of the pusher. Catch your vegetables in a container, then you are ready to cook.

What are the advantages of a vegetable slicer?

Everyone who works in a kitchen knows that in many cases, preparation involves the most work. Cleaning, peeling and cutting ingredients takes a lot of time before you can get started on cooking. A vegetable slicer will save you a lot of time. This machine cuts all your vegetables at a fast pace, allowing you to prepare up to 450 kilos of vegetables per hour. An additional advantage is that your vegetables are always cut evenly. Each cube is equally thick. Even when you cut julienne, the thickness of each piece of vegetable is the same. You are not only working faster but more neatly and precisely.

What attachments does a vegetable slicer have?

The great thing about a vegetable slicer is that you can cut your vegetables in many different ways; this is done with the help of the attachments. These all have a different shape and each creates a different effect. For example, there is an attachment with a grater, which you can use to make fine strings. There are also special attachments to finely grate all kinds of vegetables. If you need cubes, then you must use the block-cutting knife. There is also a special cutting block to make fries, just use a regular knife to cut off the excess vegetable.

How do you clean a vegetable slicer?

When preparing food, it is important to keep your appliances clean. With a vegetable slicer, this is not difficult. The different parts of the machine are easy to disconnect. Remove the cutting knives, the handle and the push-button and wipe with a wet cloth. The knives are also suitable for washing in the dishwasher. The rest of the device is made of stainless steel and can therefore also be cleaned easily. Make sure that the plug is disconnected from the machine before you do this. You only need a damp cloth to clean the machine but special cleaning spray for stainless steel can be used on the outside.
