How does a convection oven work?

A convection oven contains several heating elements that are heated via electricity. In addition to this, convection ovens are equipped with one or more fans that distribute warm air evenly throughout the oven's interior compartment. Since the constant air movement cooks the food evenly from all sides, the ovens are well known for the uniform way in which they cook food. Another advantage of the even heat distribution is faster food preparation times.

What can be prepared in a convection oven?

The biggest advantage of a convection oven is that it is suitable for preparing almost any dish. Ovens are particularly well suited to baking bread and desserts. How can you clean a convection oven?

An oven is easiest to clean directly after it has been used. As soon as the oven has cooled down completely its inside compartment can be wiped with a damp cloth. If there are any stubborn food scraps in the oven you can simply place a bowl of water in the oven and allow it to heat up to around 200 degrees Celsius. As soon as the water turns into steam it will loosen the food scraps; once the steam has done its job, you can turn the oven off and allow it to cool down again. After it has cooled down, you can wipe the interior down with a damp cloth to remove any leftover residues. Don't forget to open the door occasionally and clean it thoroughly with water.
